My belief around birth has always been that “when a baby is born, a whole family is born” it is for this reason I feel that the birthing space is an extremely sacred space and I am always very honoured to be allowed to hold that space for the family. My role is not there to take away from anybody but rather to empower those around me to be involved and part of the process as much as they are comfortable with. I believe that any mom has the strength within herself to birth her beautiful baby in whichever way she chooses and I am there to help her find that strength within that has been waiting to be awakened all along.
Relevant additional qualifications: Rebozo Workshop with Gina Kirby, First Aid Level 3, Ante Natal Facilitators Course through Mama Bamba, Qualified Beauty Therapist, Health and Wellness qualified through Cleveland Clinic.

I am passionate about helping parents achieve their ideal births from pregnancy all the way through to postpartum and breastfeeding. I will also assist parents who have had a loss of any kind. Pregnancy, labour, birth, breastfeeding and postpartum is a sacred time in parents lives and I would love to be a part of it to try and make it the best experience of their lives.

Hello, I am Sam. I’m based in Melville, Johannesburg.
At quite a late stage in my pregnancy my husband and I made the decision to move from a gynae to a midwife, I had never heard of a doula before this, but knew I wanted a mother and baby led birth, in an environment that was not fear driven. My midwife suggested a doula, we went with her guidance, and were so grateful we did. My birth experience was incredible, I felt supported and empowered. I joke now and say I would have a baby everyday just to feel that way over and over again…
My experience led me to want to be there to support other women through their pregnancy journeys and hold space for them as they birth their babies and themselves as they birth into the role of mother. I experienced first hand how important the right doula support during pregnancy, birth and postnatally is and so studied to become a doula…I would love to be there to support you in creating a safe, supported and empowered birth experience.
