Cape Town Doulas

Amy Mongie

Hi, I offer my doula services in the Helderberg, Stellenbosch & Winelands.

Through my experience of preparing for & having 2 home births, I gained a completely new understanding of the power & strength of our incredible bodies.

These experiences led me to train as a doula and start Souls in Motion where we offer pregnancy yoga, Mindful Birthing Workshops and doula support. I love sharing with women that beautiful positive births are absolutely possible and doable. I aim to guide my clients to learn to trust the process, trust their power and to stay present and loving however their birth unfolds.

You can call me on 072 551 4287 or email me at

Hello. I live in Cape Town and service the South Peninsula, Southern Suburbs and City Bowl areas.

Birth for me is magical, miraculous, sacred and momentous.  Even when I look back at my two less than ideal births 3 decades ago, I still recall how I felt as my children entered the world.  And this is what I strive for as a doula – to facilitate in helping you, the parents, feel that sense of total awe, pride, joy, love and achievement.  I feel such joy when I am present to a new life entering the world and I absolutely feel the parents’ joy as they “see” their baby for the first time.

Remember, you deliver your baby, no one else!
Being present and holding space at your birth is one of the biggest privileges I get to experience in my life!

Ever since I became pregnant, I began my journey into the wonderful world of birthing. I was fascinated by Ina May Gaskins outlook. However, my first birth experience was not a positive experience and led me to fearing birth. When I fell pregnant with my second, I knew that I needed to have an experience that would empower me. I had the most wonderful doula and midwife, and I had an incredible healing birth at home. This journey, after two gorgeous babies has led me to the Mama Bamba Way. I know I have found my true passion. My expectations were exceeded and continue to be as I learn about the power of a woman’s body during pregnancy, birth and the post-partum period.

My wish for every mother is that she will walk away from her birth feeling empowered and strong. We were made to birth our babies the way we want to. I am so excited to help women on this life changing journey into motherhood in a positive and encouraging way.

Victoria Albrektsen

Stellenbosch, Paarl and Somerset West.

Hi! I’m Victoria, a student doula and based in Stellenbosch.

Having had the experience of both hospital birth and a home birth I truly felt how empowering a birth can be when there is support and information available. And this was my main draw toward becoming a doula. So I can support anyone going through a pregnancy, birth and postpartum through sharing information, movement (as a yoga teacher) and through listening and holding space.

As I have been working as a yoga teacher for 10 years my doula services include prenatal and postnatal yoga if that is wanted.
